I believe writing begins with passion, a quiet spark born from the world around us and the emotions it awakens within. Its source can be anything: the rise of mountains, the rhythmic sound of waves in the ocean, the warmth of love, or the ache of loss. That spark moves inward, passing through the filters of our experiences, beliefs, and worldview until it becomes a message that cannot stay contained; a truth that demands to be spoken.

Poetry, I think, captures that transformation most purely; it is the soul laid bare, the heart speaking in its own native tongue.

My own poetry began in college, shortly after my journey of faith in Christ began, and through the years it has carried both darkness and light, defeat and hope, wonder and faith. In every line lives a reflection of my journey — the pain and desperation I’ve known, but also the beauty and redemption I’ve been blessed to see.

The first poem, This Love Lives, reflects that inner passion. There is no order to how I've shared the rest. Some are grouped around the time they were written, but mostly they are just here for you to read, and perhaps feel what I felt, or even better, to reveal something that you feel, leading you to write your own.
